Are e-bikes worth the price tag?

If your wheels are spinning with thoughts of buying an E-bike, you’re not alone.  Electric bikes are one of the hottest trends in the world and there are no signs of it slowing down anytime soon. Close to 100,000 electric bikes were sold in the United Kingdom alone last year, a rise of over 40% from the previous year with even more sales predicted for 2021-2022.  They are selling like hotcakes but are they worth the money that’s being shelled out for them?

From delivery drivers and commuters to club riders and recreational cyclists, it seems that everyone is jumping onboard the craze.  Sales are up and prices are down.  There couldn’t be a better time to get in the action according to many experts.

E-Bikes Are a Wise Investment?

The benefits of purchasing an electric bike include:

Energy Conservation

E-bikes are powered by electricity so they are a great way to cut down on the use of fuel.  They also conserve physical energy.  You can ride an e-bike to work without being worn out by the time you get there.

Electric bikes hold their value quite well because their popularity is surging.  If you elect to sell you bike to upgrade to a newer model or for whatever other reason you might have, you are likely to have no trouble at all doing so and will probably get a decent return.

Although e-bikes are not as strenuous to operate as traditional bikes are so you might not expect one to be an investment in your health.  The opposite is true though.  Because e-bikes are a more moderate form of exercise, studies show many individuals are more likely to engage in the activity.

Cheap Ride

Compared to the expense of a car, e-bikes are a cheap ride.  Some are opting out of vehicle ownership and are turning to e-bikes as their sole means of transportation.  Imagine not having a car payment, repairs, tags and inspections, insurance, fuel fees, and all the other costs a car bring along with it.  E-bikes require no insurance or licensing.

Believe it or not, your happiness is a huge investment.  Unhappiness breeds stress. It is estimated that 77% of those who experience stress suffer at least one physical health issue due to it and 73% report stress impacts their mental health.  Almost half the people with stress issues have trouble sleeping at night.  Stress is a culprit for medical problems like heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure and more.  E-bikes have a fantastic reputation for being fun and relaxing so they help eliminate stress.  What better way to invest in your health than to do something you love, like riding an e-bike?

Electric bikes are conducive to relationships too.  They offer an awesome way to get to spend time together and to build strong bonds.  Couples can go on e-bike dates, families can ride them on outings, and if you happen to be riding solo, you’ll be able to spend time with the most important person of all - yourself.

An e-bike is definitely worth the investments on many levels - financially, physically, and emotionally too.
